Structure and Overview of the Assets Duplicate Manager
Left Navigation Panel
If the Assets Duplicate Manager detects potential duplicates, these detections will be listed as a grouped list. You can click on each duplicate case. Besides the title of “Duplicates detected” you will get a direct indicator of how much potential duplicate cases were found in your assets data.
Center View
Based on the selected group of duplicates the details of the assets will be displayed for comparison. All asset fields and values will be displayed. The key of the asset will be displayed as active link for convenience to navigate to the asset fast and easy. Each displayed asset provides an indicator count of links where the asset was/is being used and linked. Besides the indicator, there is a three dot menu where the delete action is available to consolidate assets directly through the Assets Duplicate Manager portal.
Right Indicator Sidebar
The indicator sidebar provide a check for three level:
Object Type: Are all detected assets based on the same JSM Object Type
If yes, the indicator is green, if no the indicator is red
Fields: Are the number, the type and the fields itself identical between the detected assets
If yes, the indicator is green, if no the indicator is red
Values: Are the values in the fields of the detected assets identical or do the values differ
If yes, the indicator is green, if no the indicator is red
If all indicators are green, the discovered group is fully redundant. If the first two indicators are green, it is highly potential that the discovered group of assets should be redundant and just the way how values are written differs but the essence of the data is identical.
